Spring Training 2015

I'm backkkk!
After what was an amazing Spring Training visit, I'm ready to be back in blog world.  If you follow me on Instagram, (which you should) you would have seen that we did some pretty awesome stuff during the week I was in Arizona.
Before we left on Saturday, we had spent the last three days playing in the snow.  Talk about another crazy winter this year.  We had seven snow days and only went to work THREE days from Feb 13-March 9!!! You would think that with all that time off, I would have all my blog posts ready to go, but I truly disconnected and spent the last few days enjoying my husband's company.
Both D.J. and I went to the airport together on Saturday, but took different flights. We met back in in the Phoenix airport around 8:30pm and made it to the Haase's apartment around 10:30.  They had the airmattress all ready to go for us and since it was late, we all called it a night when we got in.

Sunday morning we woke up to this pretty awesome little kid...

How cute is he?! Looking just like his daddy, as always.  We played with Sonny, ate some breakfast, and then decided to spend the only day D.J. didn't have to go to the complex hiking Camelback Mountain, something I have wanted to do since hearing about it.
The views from the top were amazing, but it was no easy hike. D.J. told me halfway through that if he knew we were going to be rock climbing, he would have stayed home! IT WAS SO HARD, but so worth it! At times, I seriously thought we were going to be higher than the clouds. Take a look at how beautiful these pictures are.

This was right when I thought we were getting close to the top...only to realize we were about 1/5 of the way there!

One of the many times when I looked up and thought "Am I seriously about to climb this?!"

Amazing right?! You could seriously see all the way across the valley. It was stunning.

We got back to the apartment around 3:30 with groceries and went to church at 5 and ended the day with this beautiful sunset. iPhone camera doesn't do it justice!

Monday the guys went to the complex and Maria and I spent the day inside since it was raining. We got a quick workout in and spent the day staring at this one make this face...

I mean...come on! Out of nowhere he just started making the kissy face and it was precious.  It truly is amazing to see what kids can learn in a week.  Within the seven days I was there, I saw Sonny really learn how to walk, break skin on a new tooth, learn to imitate me, and make new noises and faces.  I cannot WAIT to experience this first hand with my own mini me!

Tuesday we met the guys at the big league game to watch some of our friends play in the game.  Sonny had his first experience with grass and wasn't a big fan! He would rather be in Uncle D.J.'s arms :)

Later that night we went to the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale, AZ, which is where the Superbowl was held this year! It's also where the Coyotes play games, lots of restaurants, and the best part of all - the outlets!

Some of the best baseball friends a girl could ask for. Thanks again to the Haase's for letting us spend the week at their apartment!

Wednesday I drove over to Scottsdale to get lunch with Martha Kate and spent the afternoon at the Dodgers game.

Thursday we decided to go to the big league game again since Merritt, another pitcher that played in Carolina last season, was making his big league Spring Training debut! It was awesome to see him out there - so well deserved!

Maria and Eric were able to enjoy a nice night out with Auntie Cayte and Uncle D.J. babysitting! We took Sonny on walk to the swings, but when we started walking he fell asleep.  I think he thought I was crazy...

And on the last day I was there, we enjoyed the sunshine at the pool.  Even though we couldn't go to the pool any other days, it was the best way to end the trip.  It left me wanting more and I cannot wait till the summer rolls around!

D.J. and I spent the night together and I enjoyed my first casino experience! We made another stop out the outlets and saw this awesome hot air balloon festival! It has been one of my dreams to go on a hot hair balloon for a while now, and it was so cool to see them in person so close.  I hope one of these days we are able to make that dream come true!

The visit was so needed and I am so thankful for the opportunity that baseball gives us to explore. I can't wait to see what this season brings and I am incredibly proud to call myself the wife of a minor league baseball player, especially D.J.'s wife! Let the countdown till we see each other again!
